Davor Meersman is director of POESYS. Before founding the company, he was a research project manager at Synergetics, a semantic technology innovation company specialised in large scale employability process infrastructures. He has managed 6th Framework Programme (TENCompetence.org), and 7th Framework Programme (TAS3.eu), Leonardo Da Vinci (Codrive) research projects, as well as Institute of BroadBand Technology projects (Acknowledge.be, Erfgoed 2.0).
Before that, he was founder and partner consultant at IDEAlogic, a communications consultancy firm, and worked at the public relations firm Groep C & Slangen.
His academic research (in the form of a PhD) is situated in the field of Market Driven Product Ontologies, which are used to incorporate customer information into the knowledge system of a company, creating horizontal, non-hierarchical information ?ows permitting customers to break boundaries and interact with people in companies directly. In his vision, one would integrate market research output data with the ontological backbone of an organisation in such a way that it is relevant to every aspect of the product innovation process, thus permitting the information to travel deep down into the fibre of an organisation. This way unstructured data coming from the market can be operationalised in enterprise innovation processes. The research is performed in association with:
- Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence Institute, Curtin University, Perth, Australia
- E-Business and Web Science Research Group, University of the German Federal Armed Forces, Munich, Germany
- Semantics Technology & Applications Research Laboratory, Free University of Brussels, Brussels, Belgium
Davor has been a speaker at industry and academic conferences in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, United States, Portugal, etc. He is also involved in the VRM community, which is led by Doc Searls of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School.
